Visa required help to internally promote and motivate staff during the London 2012 Olympics. Their desire was to create a feeling of involvement with the games over and above that of their official partnership, allowing their staff to connect on a more personal level. The promotion involved the use of new technologies such as RFID allowing targeted content to be pushed through large format interactive displays and QR codes to bring interactivity into printed marketing communications.
VISA staff were enabled to get involved in every step of the games by providing a secure online portal rich in staff-generated content, from interviews to live commentating. Gesture Control booths were installed across their main UK offices which allowed staff to create their own Olympic imagery which could be uploaded to the portal alongside event news tailored to individual’s sporting preferences.
